Participatory Learning Experience (PLE)

UO undergraduates can earn upper-division credit and gain valuable work experience through the museum's Participatory Learning Experience (PLE) program. 

Public Programs PLE


  • Students earn one (1) credit per term by fulfilling 35 work hours in the museum's Public Programs division
  • A two-term commitment is required
  • During the first term of service, students are required to participate in training sessions on Tuesdays & Thursdays, 2:00-5:00p.m.

Grading is based on three areas

  • Attendance (50%)
  • Participation/engagement (30%)
  • Professionalism (20%)

Students can work in the exhibit hall, help with special events and/or lead education programs.

Public Programs PLE students are accepted on an interview basis. Please submit an application to be considered.
