Participatory Learning Experience (PLE)
UO undergraduates can earn upper-division credit and gain valuable work experience through the museum's Participatory Learning Experience (PLE) program.
Public Programs PLE
- Students earn one (1) credit per term by fulfilling 35 work hours in the museum's Public Programs division
- A two-term commitment is required
- During the first term of service, students are required to participate in training sessions on Tuesdays & Thursdays, 2:00-5:00p.m.
Grading is based on three areas
- Attendance (50%)
- Participation/engagement (30%)
- Professionalism (20%)
Students can work in the exhibit hall, help with special events and/or lead education programs.
Public Programs PLE students are accepted on an interview basis. Please submit an application to be considered. Fall term appliations are accepted through September 15, 2016. Acceptance into the course is ongoing.
