Get Cooking @ Sprout!

Get ready for a cooking adventure at Sprout! Regional Food Hub. Our Get Cooking classes are taught by local chefs and emphasize fresh, local ingredients. Classes take place on three Sunday afternoons this Spring. Bring an apron and join the fun!  

100 Mile Bakery

MARCH 5
3:00 to 5:00 p.m. 

SAUSAGE MAKING 
Join executive chef Natalie Sheild of Pig and Turnip for a sausage making class using locally sourced meats. Learn the basics of sausage making—from selecting and grinding meat to stuffing the casing—and make two bratwurst to take home. $20 per person; $17 for MNCH members.

3:00 to 5:00 p.m. 
THE TAMAL EXPERIENCE
Join Baldo and Evy Hernandez of La Granada Latin Kitchen for a hands-on tamal making experience! Enjoy a traditional, non-alcoholic beverage, learn the history of tamales, and make a few of your own to take home. You'll also make salsas to accompany the tamales, and sample tamales from La Granada. $45 per person; $40 for MNCH members. 

MAY 7
3:00 to 6:00 p.m. 
A 100-MILE MEAL
Join master baker Leda Hermecz of 100 Mile Bakery and create a vegetarian dinner using ingredients sourced from within 100 miles. At the end of the class, participants will sit down to feast together. $35 per person; $30 for MNCH members.
