Baskets are some of the most distinctive products of Oregon American Indian cultures.
However, while these baskets have been collected by outsiders as art objects, information on their cultural origin and individual makers is often been overlooked. Stephanie Wood, Grand Ronde Native and University of Oregon alumna, worked with baskets in the MNCH collection to identify the people who made them and what their works mean to Native cultures.
