Down to Earth: A Geologist's Perspective

November 6, 2009 - February 28, 2010

The Earth has many faces. Some are smooth and flowing, others rocky and ravaged; all are shaped by dynamic geologic processes. This exhibit showcases snapshots of our ever-changing planet from a geologist’s perspective.

These photographs were taken by graduate students and faculty in the University of Oregon Department of Geological Sciences, and selected in an annual departmental photo contest. Each year, winning images are compiled into a calendar that is sold to support the graduate student field trip fund. This calendar provides a unique opportunity for the department to share experiences from near and far with one another and others.
