Exhibits

Through engaging interpretation and presentation of objects and research the Exhibits program strives to serve as an academic and cultural resource for the community - enhancing awareness, understanding, and appreciation of the natural and cultural history of Oregon, the Pacific Northwest, and the broader world.

300 million years of Northwest natural history

Under construction until fall 2016.
Last winter, the museum began construction on Oregon – Where Past is Present and the adjacent exhibit spaces in the museum’s south wing. The undertaking will bring new interactive displays, fresh content, and greater accessibility to the ten-year-old cultural history exhibit – plus a brand new exhibit area devoted to Oregon’s Paisley Caves.

Strung Together celebrates beads and beadwork from around the world, spanning thousands of years and six continents. Blending items from our anthropological collections with works by contemporary artists, Strung Together invites you to discover a world of stories behind the beauty of beads.
