Alec Dakers

Alec was born in San Francisco to Japanese and Scottish immigrants. He lived in Japan, Hawaii, and the California foothills before moving to Eugene. He received his B.A. from the University of Oregon’s School of Architecture and Allied Arts and has worked in the design and construction industries for the past 25 years. He is a partner and lead designer at Rainbow Valley Design & Construction, a design/build firm with offices in Eugene and Portland, which specializes in residential and light commercial projects. Alec enjoys travel, the outdoors and spending time with his wife and three sons. He first became interested in the museum when he brought in his young sons in over 15 years ago, and believes that the museum has a special role to play in educating youth on Oregon's rich and diverse history.
