The
rockwork by Scott Wyllie includes a variety of specimens donated
primarily by David Blackwell, Jack Rice and Allan Kays of the
Department of Geological Sciences. These are labeled in the key
to the left. The black rocks marked are all local Oligocene basalt
of the Little Butte Volcanics from the hilltop quarry south of
downtown Springfield. To get information about the other rocks,
simply put the mouse over the corresponding number.
