Oregon's landscapes and the geologic events that formed our region.
Students will be in awe when they learn about giant ancient
beavers, touch a mammoth tooth, compare volcanic rocks, and imagine
the effects of the Ice Age Floods.

any school program. Students visit the university’s
natural areas and explore the science behind them - a great way
to introduce students to the UO campus. This program

has the environment shaped Oregon's cultures? How has the
landscape been affected by culture over time? Students will investigate
artifacts and consider various perspectives as they learn about
the history and culture of Native Americans and Euro-American settlers
in Oregon.
Cultural Scene Investigation:
60-90 minutes
Grades 6-12
What does it take to be an archaeologist? This program focuses
on the interdisciplinary nature of archaeology and engages students
in math, science, and art as they observe and record data about
artifacts on the provided artifact

Students explore exhibits with a knowledgeable guide, learn oral
traditions, and become experts in their own topic areas.
