The Don L Hunter Archive Project is a unique digital archive project highlighting Oregon's visual and auditory history. Don L. Hunter professionally documented, in slide photography and audio recordings, regional history since the mid-1930s. In the 1950s, Mr. Hunter combined his collections into thematic multiple slide projector presentations, which were cutting edge precursors to current multi-media productions.

In 2003, with support from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the University of Oregon Museum of Natural and Cultural History and University Libraries went forward with the creation of a digital archive to make a select number of these slide presentations available in DVD format.
